1 Cup Dry Red Wine
1/2 Cup Sugar
2 Tbsp. Mulling Spices
1 Tbsp. Minced Orange Peel
1/2 Cup Dutch Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Light Corn Syrup
1 oz. Semi-sweet Chocolate, Chopped
Combine the red wine, sugar, mulling spices, and minced orange peel together in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes and the turn off the heat. Cover and steep for another 15 minutes. Strain solids and return the liquid to a clean saucepan. Whisk in the cocoa powder and corn syrup until smooth. Simmer for 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until melted. Cool to room temperature for about 10 minutes then refrigerate.
